Tour through my garden (Warning: picture overload)

Okay, first of all, here are the seed potatoes from my first harvest. They're waiting to be planted out. Some are starting to grow eyes already which is a good sign.

Garlic almost ready to harvest. This was planted by Nanna so I can't take credit.

We put new edgings in around all the garden beds a couple of days ago :) Now everything looks all neat and awesome.

Onion also getting close to harvest. Also planted by Nanna.

Our herb pot. Dead basil on the right. Sage and chives overgrowing the top. And a reduced parsley at the front (it got severly trimmed due to poor foliage).
Should probably add some more herbs to this at some stage...

Last potato plant. Waiting for it to finish before planting in this half of the plot.

Redone path due to new edging.

Broccoli growing like a champ.

Getting big :D

View of the whole plot. Broccoli at front, cauliflower at back. Carrots in between the cauliflower. New edging and path on display.

Cauliflower still showing no sign of flowering.
Carrots are getting bigger though. And actually taste like carrot now :P

Just a little smaller than the other one.

New path looking all spiffy (okay that suspicious looking dirty one does show that they were scavenged from elsewhere in the yard, but that's not the point)

This used to be just all dirt but I wanted a bit of a path so I didn't have to get all dirty just going for a walk. We scavenged some pavers from around the garden that weren't being used. Some are from the chicken pen and haven't been properly cleaned yet so... a bit yucky.

New plot! Empty right now, waiting on cucumber plants and a trellis/arch. It turned out much bigger than expected :)

This area used to be just one plant but when it died and the area was much larger than expected when cleared up.

Carrots and cauliflower

I want to put another plot here beside the compost bin. We didn't have enough edging so gunna have to get some more.

Overview of the garden. Can see all the compost bins sitting there.

Grape vine. Green grapes.

Almond tree

Nectarine tree

Chicken yard

Plum tree

Beautiful smelling rose

Chickens came to investigate

Peach tree!! Excited for treegrown peaches
I only put this peach tree in this year so it's still small and I don't know how much fruit I'll get.

Peach tree looking nice and healthy :)

Grape vine. Red grapes

We removed a paver here to replace some of the ones taken from elsewhere in the garden. Thinking of putting in a new plot for since it gets such nice sun.

Nosy chickens.

Strawberries. Also planted by Nanna.

Lemon verbena (apparantly).

Rosemary with navel orange hiding behind.

Some sort of citrus...

Banana tree!!

With bananas :)

My strawberry plants. One going crazy growing leaves, one tried to grow strawberries straight away but failed and is now sitting there doing nothing, and the third one slowly grew a few leaves and is now trying to grow strawberries!

Strawberries!!

Rhubarb plant

Pyrethium that's meant to stop bugs but as can be seen from the rhubarb... doesn't seem to be doing a very good job.

view of whole area.

Further along the garden bed. Didn't realise there was so much afternoon sun on it. May have to reconsider the plants I was planning on putting here (they don't like heat)

Could put them here instead I guess.

Two prune trees

Inquisitive chicken

Chicken cage

Apricot tree. Doesn't look like much but produces decent amount of yummy fruit (if you can get it before the birds). Was heavily pruned this winter so will have to see how much fruit it produces this year.

Another view of chicken cage. This is also the only lawn area so chickens aren't on it all the time. They have the whole area right now to try to get the length down a little.
Most of the fruit trees (other than the peach and lemon) were planted by Nanna long ago. She also started the garden by planting onion and garlic and I've added to that. I have a large list of plants that are going to be planted. Next post will be about the seeds I've planted :)
